Method
- Slice the washed zucchini into thin, even rounds, about 1/8 inch thick, and set them aside on a plate.
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and black pepper. Gradually pour in the cold water while whisking until the batter is smooth and slightly thickened.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat until shimmering and bubbling, about 2-3 minutes.
- Dip each zucchini slice into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated, then carefully place it into the hot oil.
- Fry the slices in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan, and cook until golden brown on the bottom, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and fry the other side until equally crispy.
- Use tongs or a slotted spoon to transfer the fried zucchini to a paper-towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Repeat the frying process with the remaining zucchini slices, maintaining the oil temperature as needed.
- Once all slices are fried and drained, arrange them on a serving plate. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or enjoy on their own.
Notes
Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve crispy results. Adjust the seasoning to taste; adding garlic powder or paprika can add extra flavor.
